Mission & Vision

The Department of English with its dedicated team of faculty members is committed to maintaining high standards of scholarship and research and has been working consistently towards the academic upgradation at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The department also aims to equip the students with the new trends and tools in ICT applications.

The Department publishes an Academic Journal Rajasthan University Studies in English (RUSE) indexed in MLA and a Student's Magazine Alph.

The Department of English was established in 1961. The eminent Yeatsian scholar Ms. A.G. Stock from Ireland was the founder Head of the Department . We have qualified faculty with specializations in areas such as Postcolonial Literatures, Feminist Writing, Language Studies, American, Canadian, Australian and African Literature, Literature and Films, and Indian Writing in English.
