Mission & Vision

Drama is a most vital and powerful instrument of social and cultural education, as well as a source of healthy entertainment to the people due to its audio- visual quality.

Infrastructural Facility

For the benefit of the students, guest teachers and theatre professionals are invited to talk about theatre the sign, stage management, television and films. Besides its own open-air theatre on the campus, the department has access to the infrastructural facilities of the Jawahar Kala Kendra and the RavindraManch.

Other Highlights and Achievements:

At present the Department of Dramatics of University of Rajasthan is the only institution in north India where five years continuous academic U.G. & P.G. study and Ph. D. programme in the subject of Dramatics.

The Department of Dramatics was established in1975 with a one-year part time Certificate Course. Today the Department has earned the status of one of the most exciting and innovative Drama Departments in the country. Combining the study of traditional theatre with cutting-edge performance practice, the Department aims at providing an all-rounddevelopment of the students.
